Manning Support Services participated in a Social Support Group Excursion to Kings Creek Retreat on November 27th. This was ‘A Day with a Difference’
The group arrived at 11am for a casual morning tea & stroll around the retreat facilities. Hopi the Pony was on hand to entertain & was given a colourful group makeover. After a healthy lunch of grazing platters & treats, Carla & Spud hosted a presentation in the Barn followed by question time.
The guests spent the afternoon creating their own suncatcher mobiles & feather head bands while others played tunes on the jukebox and pianola in the games room. Some of the quieter guests chose to sit around the fire circle or explore the beautiful gardens and abundant birdlife that make Kings Creek Retreat such a relaxing, re-energising day place to be.
As people age and retire or move to a new community, they may not have as many opportunities to socialise as they did previously. Thanks to Charmaine & the wonderful staff at MSS who helped to create a great day and provide an opportunity for all who attended to continue to participate in community. After all, why should the kids have all the fun?
